Our founders, Dr. Carl Ormerod, PhD, and Rebecca Richardson, bring together two distinct, yet complimentary, perspectives.

Carl's research background focused on drug delivery modeling and bioavailability - understanding how compounds are absorbed and utilized in the body. Rebecca's experience blends decades of leading strategic projects and programs for some of the world's largest company with her personal dedication as a committed herbalist, developing her own tinctures and remedies from the ground up. 

Together, the pair took on stewardship of 120 acres of family land in Missouri.  With over a decade of growing mushrooms for themselves, they began exploring the potential to cultivate functional mushrooms with clinical impact. 

Everything changed when Rebecca's functional physician said to incorporate more mushrooms into her diet. Rebecca laughed and told her about their growing room & plans to explore commercial growing.

That physician shared a frustration: while she wanted all of her patients to use functional mushrooms, she couldn’t find a brand she trusted to meet her standards.

That moment sparked the mission.

Over the next three years, Carl and Rebecca immersed themselves in research to design clinically aligned, practitioner-trusted mushroom extracts. Each step of their process was shaped by a shared commitment to integrity:
